Our Origin Story

Growing up in Hyderabad, India, I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother. Some of my most cherished memories are of hours spent by her side, listening to the stories she would narrate. In those moments, I felt a bond with her that has stayed with me to this day. 'Nani' means maternal grandmother in Hindi, and that's where the story of Nani Stori begins.

When my son was born in January 2022, I found myself yearning for him to experience the same connection and love through my grandmother's story time. As we read to him, I wished I could extend those bonds to other loved ones, but it wasn't always possible or practical. So, when he was about to turn one, I had an idea. I reached out to my loved ones and asked them to record stories for him as a birthday gift. Seeing him slowly begin to recognize their voices and absorb the "I love you Avir" messages filled me with joy. I hoped these stories would give him a special set of core memories to cherish for years to come.

That's when I realized I wanted to offer those same moments of connection to other families. And so, Nani Stori was born. Nani Stori is a platform that centers the voices of your loved ones, one story at a time.

Our mission is to help strengthen the bonds between your young children and your village, so they can grow up feeling truly loved and supported.

These stories become treasured keepsakes that last a lifetime.

The Inspiration, In Pictures
